Ever hear a song that stops you in your tracks
I was working with the music playing
It was background sound keeping me focus on the job
When I suddenly heard the words
Words that brought your imagine so vividly to me
“Grow old along with me; the best is yet to be”
“When our time has come, we will be as one”
“God bless our love”
What a beautiful, perfect way to describe
A love of many years and as I repeatedly
Listen to the words, I started to cry
With more emotion than I could handle
It barred my soul…..
I was 14 when I fell in love with you
And at almost 56, we have grown older together,
Lovingly, so the words being sung
“Spending our lives together”
“Man & wife together in our world without end”
So absolutely beautiful…..
I can hardly wait to share this wonderful expression
A way to describe a wonderful life spent with you
Love Mickey, your Angel

God bless our love
Labels:
I wish I could let the singer know how much she touched me with her words,
it brought 40 years together so perfectly.,
NOTES: the song is “Grow old with me” by Mary Chapin Carpenter

Just amazing
I was listening to a song called “It amazes me” and I found myself thinking that my life really amazes me but sometimes I can’t find the words to work for me, for what words could ever express my inner feelings.
For my total amazement I have to turn to
My husband, Sam, whom I’ve loved forever
My children, Samantha, Angie and Sam Jr., my very own babies who have grown to be my adult children who have succeeded in making me so proud.
And then I think of my grand children – searching for the words which were never made in any language to hopefully express how much they mean to me – just the acknowledge of the ache of knowing that they’re a part of you.
This really amazes me.
With an astonishing thought – they are my family
The years we got Gabby, Alex and Daphne, I was absolutely filled with awe.
Now, we have Katie and Aurora, too.
And I find myself searching for the words – words which were never made to express the over abundance of emotion that my heart has felt.
So it amazes me, it really, really does
For my total amazement I have to turn to
My husband, Sam, whom I’ve loved forever
My children, Samantha, Angie and Sam Jr., my very own babies who have grown to be my adult children who have succeeded in making me so proud.
