Just starting.

I have always wanted to do this, but wasn't sure I could. So this might take me awhile to get the hang of it and all. I would like to post my poetry here.

Aug 29, 2010 - tomorrow is my daughter Angie's birthday, and for some reason tonight I can't sleep, so I decided I would think about how special my Angie is and do a few update to my site here. there are so many poems that I have written, and I may never find everything I would like to post here. But I'm going to give it a shot...

WOW. a place to talk about me. well, I am a Wife, Mother and Grandmother, old lady and friend. While at work, Maria Serrato loves calling me Pookie and Short Stuff and the sad things is I think I am starting to answer to those two names. My family is everything to me and I sincerely value the great friends I have in my life. Way too many to mention, but hopefully you all know who you are. I've always wanted a place to leave my words to share with those I care so much about. I have to share, and knowing me can and will most likely and I say this kindly you'll find yourself in my words. Having said that you've all been warned...lol

February 16, 1984

One cold and quiet evening

We would sit & laugh at the comical movie Vacation

Never dreaming as to what was already starting to defeat us.

Late in the evening while our children slept

Just you & I relaxing in what we each liked best

The phone rang, looking up I even asked "who could it be?"

Thinking its so late at night

You answered, and as I watched cold fear ran through me

For at your words and your questioning gestures

I saw your knees buckle knowing the news was bad

I tried so hard to determine what had happen.

No sense could be made at the news we received

It was so unreal, totally unbelievable

Telling myself, it can't be true - never wanting to believe

But as we stood side by side looking at you

It looked like you were peacefully sleeping

I know I will always miss you, knowing my Sam will too

So many times a day, it this day comes to mind

So many thoughts - so many memories

Finally hoping Dan knew he was dearly loved

My Words

I said I would never include you in any of my ludicrous words

But you sneaked in and became a part of me.

I guess it would have eventually happened!

You've became my thoughts so very often that it was impossible to separate you and not include you to my writing pen and my empty white lined paper - a clean page just waiting to be filled.

It always seem like the people closest to me at any given time or another, always end up at the end of my pen and onto the pages of what I call my own. My words.

Knowing this, no one could possibly get closer to me than you. I guess even though I never asked for you, you knew I needed what you were able to share with me.

The freedom to imagine and boy did we have an imagination together.
